Sanjo is folk instrumental solo music which is considered to be one of the most valuable Korean traditional music. Different types of instruments are used to perform sanjo, and gayageum sanjo, especially, is transmitted in several different schools. Choi Ok-sam school sanjo is well known for its masculine aesthetics with profound melodies giving deep feelings.
Yeon Ji-eun is a talented gayageum musician who is now actively working in various fields in promoting folks music. The album contains Yeon’s tempered music and mature performance of her own.
