Sung Sang Sik is a contemporary narrative musician and visual artist.

He majored in classical music and jazz and has crossed over a lot of genres such as rock, blues, reggae, psychedelic, and performance. Recently he has carried out some projects for composing and performing several pieces of music with Korean percussion instruments such as janggo, jing, jwajong, moktak, pungkyung, and gong. One of his projects is to compose and perform a piece of music with non-instrument things such as dalhangari or jangdok which are Korean traditional gray pots.

He writes and sings his life stories, and thinks of himself as a singer fulfilling his whole life. He is making experiments and performing life-world over and over.

On the other hand, he has focused on stories of nature beyond development and conservation with his visual work. One of his visual working was Geuneum(root sound), voice of roots, in the Bijarim redwood forests which were cut off in Jeju island. He was consoled by the redwoods while he consoled them. Again he designed another project, Song of Common Sense as a popular version of Geuneum, putting together performance, photo exhibition, and videos. in this album, a song called Geuneum composed on site was included
